On Amazon (yes really) Continental Race King MTB Bicycle Tire (26x2.2, Folding)

Continental Race King MTB Bicycle Tire (26x2.2, Folding)

Product Description

Continental Race King Foldable MTB Tire is a talented newcomer as a cross-country speed merchant. The secret of the Race King is a large volume casing mated to a low-profile tread pattern that not only spells speed, but also incredible all-round traction and control. The continuous tread from crown to edge makes for fast, easy transitions from upright to ‘hard over’. Care must be taken about over cornering, though, because they don’t give you much feedback about how near to the edge of traction you are. The Kevlar bead is foldable. Specs: Weight - 570 grams; Recommended PSI - 50; Maximum PSI - 65; PU - 5.

4Great tire; Not for tubeless...
By M. Steger
This tire is lightweight, has good traction, and low rolling resistance.
A perfect dry weather rear tire. I loved it until I switched it to tubeless. On my second ride with it tubeless I got a flat. An eighth inch cut in the tread that won't seal. Had numerous other pin holes that did seal. Had to put the tube back in. Still happy with it, just wish they made a tubeless version. The sidewalls are very thin. I wouldn't trust it on sharp edged terrain, even with a tube.
Mine was the standard folding version; not wire bead, not sst, not black chili.

5Killer grip on hard pack trails!
By G. Miller
I got a pair of these tires for my mountain bike and they're plainly great tires.

I don't ride in wet weather so the trails are almost always hard pack so these low profile 2.2 tires are the fastest I've seen.
I've always used Continental tires b/c of the quality and tread they provide.

Most mountain bikers I see pick tires with big knobs which are counterproductive to good traction on hard pack trails b/c most of the tire is suspended by the knobs.
With these low profile tires you get more speed and traction b/c MORE of the tire is in good contact with the road with smaller knobs more suited to hard pack trails.

Anyhow, I wanted to leave this review b/c of the single other review is unfairly negative toward this good tire.

You won't be disappointed.
Take it from a veteran racer (Started 20 years ago when Mtn. Biking started getting popular).
I know good tires and these are them.
