3Good tires but the are undersized
By Watson26
These tires are advertized as 700 x 42cc but they are only 700 x 37cc. I don't know why but I guess Continental is notorious for overstating the width of their tires.

4Good Commuting Tire
By AGC
Good looking tire which mounted easily and rides great. Only have around twenty miles on it, so only time will tell how well they wear.

4One of the best tires for expedition touring
By Mark J. Boyd
I've been using Conti touring tires for loaded touring for about 20 years and over 50000 miles. The Continental Travel Contact Tire, 700 x 42cc, is my current favorite tire for both touring and recreational riding that involves both paved and unpaved roads.

Standard touring/tandem rims, like the Mavic 319/519/719 work very well with these tires, giving both really good handling on pavement and a very comfortable ride at moderate - 40 or 50 psi - pressure. On dirt/gravel/fireroads at lower pressure - 25-35 psi - they don't pinch flat and they get good traction from those little knobs on the outside of the smooth tread.

Riding along the Danube in Romania last summer, I met a group of riders who were part of an organization promoting bicycling in Romania. I was surprised when one those riders - a professional downhill racer - complimented me on my use of Travel Contacts. He said they were the considered the best touring tires by Romanians.

I only give them 4 stars because, while they wear well, they don't last as long as some older Conti touring tires, the TT and TT2000 did. However they do handle better and ride better, both on road and off, than those tires did so, except for tours over 4000 miles, I use these on both front and rear. For longer tours, I use a tire from my stock of TT2000s - no longer sold - on my rear wheel and a Travel Contact on my front wheel.
