Fantastic tires
By Dennis Eichenlaub
If you're lucky enough to be married to my wife and you want to ride a bike, there is one rule you must observe. You must get yourself home. If you're on the road and you get a flat, that means you must change the tire. For some, changing a tire is a simple 27-step process that can be done in a few minutes. For me, those steps are divided into: 1) Those that don't work like they are supposed to, 2) Those I forgot, 3) Those I got out of order, and 4) The extra steps (such as looking for tiny little parts in the grass). It also involves secret, ancient male incantations that we aren't supposed to use when children are around. I ride mostly on pavement, but sometimes the pavement isn't exactly smooth. I occasionally ride on dirt or gravel. Sometimes I don't see broken glass or debris soon enough and end up riding through obstacles that lesser tires would not survive. I love these tires because they ride very well, and because I simply don't have to change them on the road.
I took my last set off after 5,000 miles. They still look fine, but I'm preparing for a tour, and I would rather buy new tires a little early than face the possibility of a tire wearing out on the road. Of course, the new tires are Continental Gator Hardshell Urban with Duraskin. Those clever Germans. Whatever that Hard Shell Duraskin stuff is, it works. Without detracting from how the tire rides.
Edit: I just want to clarify I am reviewing the wire bead tires. The folding tires are also quite good about not getting flats, but I stopped using them. I "only" get 3500 miles out of them. I have one folding tire that I carry as an emergency spare when I tour.

No more flats for the wife on solo rides
By Kari VanDyke
My wife kept getting flats and since I put these on her bike last year she is yet to have a single incident, knock on wood!
I will be ordering a set this weekend for my bike since I had a blow out today and my tires, her old ones, are shot.
Performance is great on these but the price is difficult to choke down and since last year they have only gone up :(
Price is the only reason for not giving 5 stars. Unfortunately I don't know another choice or I would probably try it.

slow to wear, no flats for 6 months
By Mark Mueller
exactly what is said above. pay the price and lose the time wasted with flats. I've had them now for 6 months.
